Product Description:
Ranbar Blue GS5030 is a colorless to blue photochromic pigment powder processed by microencapsulation coating technology. It can absorb the energy of sunlight and ultraviolet rays and make the molecular structure change, resulting in a change of the reflected wavelengths, thus changing the color to blue. When the photochromic pigment powder loses the sunlight or ultraviolet rays irradiation, the molecular structure will be restored to its original state and revert to its original color.

In daily life, ultraviolet rays can be divided into three types according to different wavelength bands, UVC with a wavelength below 250nm, UVB with a wavelength within 250-320nm, and UVA with a wavelength within 320-380nm. The range of visible light is 380-800nm, and the range of infrared light is 900-1800nm. The photochromic pigment powder absorbs the ultraviolet light source of a specific wavelength during use, and produces a color change by absorbing the energy of the light source. When the ultraviolet light source of a specific wavelength is not present, the original color is restored.
Precautions for use:
1. For the base material of photochromic pigment powder, materials with a pH value of 7~9 are more suitable.
2. Try to avoid processing at temperatures above 230°C.
3. Photochromic pigment powder, as a photochromic material, will produce light fatigue, which is caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet light, acid, free radicals (singleton oxygen atoms) and humidity. It is recommended not to expose to the sun for a long time.
4. The additives, absorbers and inhibitors used in photochromic pigment powder can improve the resistance to light fatigue, but the ratio of additives depends on the medium used, and the wrong ratio will accelerate the occurrence of light fatigue.
5. Photochromic pigment powder can be mixed with different toners to produce more variety of color changes.
6. The plastic melt index (MI value) of the photochromic pigment powder is greater than 10, and the flexural elasticity is less than 13,000. The suggested addition amount is 0.2%~1%, generally 0.5%.
7. When used in the processing of the plastic industry, the plastic material can be moistened with white wax oil (note that the amount of white wax oil added should not exceed 2% of the plastic material), and then the photochromic pigment powder is added to the plastic material and stirred. Attention should be paid to the dispersibility, if the dispersion is poor, an appropriate amount of dispersant can be added.
