Ranbar SW5060 Sapphire Blue to colorless thermochromic microcapsules is a kind of special pigment that can change color with temperature change, it shows Sapphire Blue color at low temperatures, the color disappears to a colorless state after the temperature rises, and then it can be restored to Sapphire Blue color after cooling down, so it is called reversible thermochromic microcapsules because of its ability to change color again and again.

Thermochromic microcapsules will change color with the change of temperature, and the temperature range of color change is from 0 to 70°C. In fact, the temperature of color change of thermochromic microcapsules is not a temperature point, but a temperature interval, that is, the temperature range included from the beginning to the end of color change, and the temperature-sensitive pigments with different temperature intervals of color change can be made by different temperature-control factor materials selection.

Ranbar thermochromic microcapsules are easy to use and have a wide range of applications, which can be used in many fields such as water-based/oil-based printing ink, water-based/oil-based paint, plastic, and plastic, such as plastic injection, plastic extrusion, ceramic mugs, textile printing and dyeing, advertising and promotional products, children's toys, plastic soft spoons, heat-reducing stickers, thermal transfer stickers, printing products and so on.

There are many kinds of colors in thermochromic microcapsules, and the temperature range of color change can also be regulated. Different series of thermochromic pigments can match and collocate each other's colors, so that more colorful colors can be obtained, thus creating gorgeous products with various colors and color changes at different temperatures.

The basic colors of thermochromic microcapsules can be matched with each other according to a certain ratio, so as to obtain the effect of color change from transition color to colorless color, as shown in the following figure:

Product Precautions:
Thermochromic microcapsule itself is an unstable system (it is difficult to change if it is stable), so its light resistance, heat resistance, and aging resistance are not as good as that of ordinary pigment, which should be paid attention to in the use.

Light resistance: the light resistance of thermochromic microcapsules is poor, and the color will fade and fail quickly under strong sunlight, so it is only suitable for indoor use. Strong sunlight and ultraviolet light should be avoided, which is conducive to prolonging its service life.

Heat resistance: thermochromic microcapsules can withstand the high temperature of 230℃ in a short time (about 10 minutes), which can be applied to injection molding and high-temperature curing. However, the thermal stability of thermochromic pigment is different in the color-generating state and achromatic state, and the stability of the former is higher than that of the latter. In addition, when the temperature is higher than 80℃, the organic matter constituting the color change system will start to degrade. Therefore, color-changing pigments should be avoided to work under a temperature higher than 75℃ for a long time.

Please do not use high polarity solvents, such as methanol, ethanol, etc., to avoid affecting the internal environment of the coating film due to osmosis, thus affecting the color change performance. If there is a high-temperature process, it is recommended that the processing temperature should not be higher than 220 degrees Celsius, and the processing time should not exceed 30 minutes. Adding heat stabilizers, lowering the processing temperature, or shortening the processing time at high temperatures will help to improve the color change performance of the final product.

Thermochromic microcapsules should be stored under cool, dry, and light-proof conditions.
